This is an affordable humidifier. It is not perfectly quiet as are some humidifiers. It uses a fan to evaporate the water. Advantages: it uses tap water and does not spread white dust around the areas being humidified. The filters are reasonably cheap and trap the dissolved minerals in the unit. Other than the noise it makes, this is a great product. If you like it quiet to sleep, put it in another room. If you put it on a low setting, its noise is not annoying where you are active in the daytime. I don't recommend it for use in the bedroom unless you don't mind some noise while you sleep or are trying to go to sleep. I own two of these units and use them to keep the air moist in my home. They really do help.
